Overview

QuietGPT is a Chrome extension that adds response modes to ChatGPT. The extension works by reading and updating the visible ChatGPT composer so it can insert, replace, or remove one-line response mode instructions.

QuietGPT does not collect, store, or sell your ChatGPT messages. Your mode settings are stored locally in Chrome extension storage.

Information stored locally

The extension stores settings such as default mode, Nudge character limit, per-thread mode state, free-use count, license activation status, and a browser-generated device identifier.

Information sent to QuietGPT servers

When you activate or check a license, QuietGPT sends the license key or activation token, the browser-generated device identifier, and activation status information to QuietGPT servers.

QuietGPT uses this information to activate licenses, check subscription status, limit license abuse, process refunds or subscription changes, and provide support.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe. QuietGPT stores license records such as purchaser email, Stripe checkout identifiers, subscription status, activation count, and hashed activation tokens. Card numbers and payment credentials are handled by Stripe and are not stored by QuietGPT.

Email

License emails may be sent through Resend. QuietGPT uses purchase and license email information only for product access, license delivery, and support.

Data sharing

The extension does not sell user data, does not use user data for advertising, and does not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
